Does Cardio Leave You Feeling Bored and Watching the Clock? Mix it Up!

Do you ever find yourself bored to tears over cardio?  Are you tired of doing the same old 45 minute treadmill walk?  Has the elliptical machine got you feeling bla?  

Mix up your workout by doing 10-15 minute segments.  

Try this:

  • Treadmill 10 minutes
  • Elliptical 15 minutes
  • Jump Rope 10 minutes
  • Walk the Track 10 minutes

If it's a strength training day try this:

  • Treadmill 10 minutes
  • Set 1 of Strength Training
  • Elliptical 15 minutes
  • Set 2 of Strength Training
  • Jump Rope 10 minutes
  • Set 3 of Strength Training
  • Walk Track 10 Minutes

This is basically circuit training.  For some reason our brains think that we have to be a part of a class or use a dedicated circuit built for us at the gym in order to do this type of training. That is simply not the case.  

You can even make up your own circuit workout!  Use your imagination.  If you don't like the treadmill, elliptical machine, jump rope, or track then delete them from the lists above and insert something you do like.  The point is to give your workout some variation so you don't feel so bored and won't dread your workout.
